It’s been two weeks, and I am still daydreaming about my vacation to the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman is unlike any Caribbean island I have ever been to, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. The locals are among the most genuinely friendly people in the world, the community is safe, the land is pristine and the beaches are breathtaking.
To my surprise, the island was not inundated with commercial developments, like most are. There are relatively few resorts, few attractions and few entertainment/dining options, which enabled some true, and much needed, recovery and relaxation. And also created a true “local” feel and experience.
My family and I stayed at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa, during its debut season, and were blown away by the experience. The staff, the rooms, the service, the interior/exterior designs and the amenities were second to none. In just a week, the staff felt like family and the resort felt like home. Being a new development, the resort was not at full occupancy the week we stayed, which A) made for a pleasant vacation without overcrowding and B) made for some surprising discounts on the rooms leading up to our stay. It’s a matter of time before the mass of people discover this amazing establishment, so book your trip while it’s still a new spark and hidden gem!
